Mapping Student Data for New Student Admissions Using a Data Warehouse at BPK PENABUR Jakarta

Background: BPK PENABUR Jakarta, as an educational institution with a wide network, faces challenges in managing new student admissions (Penerimaan Siswa Baru, PSB) data spread across various platforms, such as PSB applications, Google Forms, and PDF documents. The manual process currently in use leads to inefficiency, data inaccuracies, and difficulties in data analysis.
Objective: This study aims to design a data warehouse-based solution to centrally integrate, store, and manage PSB data and develop a visual dashboard to support decision-making.
Methods: The research method employs Kimball’s Nine-Step Design Method, including business process identification, dimension and fact modeling, and the implementation of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes using Pentaho Data Integration.
Results: The result is a data warehouse with a star schema that combines data from various sources and is equipped with an interactive dashboard to visualize information such as the number of students accepted, religious distribution, geographic distribution, and parental income. This implementation improves the efficiency of PSB data management, reduces dependence on manual processes, and enables faster and more accurate data analysis. Key success factors include management commitment, resource availability, and supporting infrastructure.
Conclusion: This research offers academic contributions to the development of educational information systems as well as practical benefits for BPK PENABUR Jakarta in optimizing the PSB process. Suggestions for further development include expanding data coverage, providing user training, and integrating the data warehouse with other Business Intelligence tools.
